CHICAGO —Woman Made Gallery (WMG) is proud to present the exhibition ‘GrassRoots,’ an exploration of environment. Simultaneously WMG is hosting ‘Reunion I,’ the first of two group exhibitions featuring WMG artist members in celebration of WMG’s 25th Anniversary year.
‘GrassRoots,’ juried by WMG Executive Director, Deb Flagel, and former WMG Associate Director, Pamela Callahan, includes artworks in all media that expand the definitions of environment and connection. Via painting, photography, video, mixed media and sculpture, 49 artists present ideas of the world and our place in it. Themes explored are vast and intimate spaces, flux and order, ethereal and natural forces, identity, and the systems that define, alter, and form our world(s).

The opening reception for the ‘GrassRoots’ is on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. Works are on display through June 17, 2017. The closing reception will take place on Saturday, June 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. In addition, a literary reading, ‘Environments: Where We Find Ourselves,’ will take place at WMG on Sunday, June 11th from 1 to 3 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
