Woman Made Gallery proudly presents Pure Painting, an exhibition featuring original works by 34 women artists from across the United States and Canada. Juried by the acclaimed Chicago Imagist Gladys Nilsson, the show celebrates the richness and versatility of painting in all its forms.
This dynamic exhibition includes pieces created in oil, acrylic, encaustic, watercolor, gouache, and ink. The works span a broad spectrum of styles—from pure abstraction to photo-realism, from bold, colorful compositions to minimalist black-and-white imagery. Subject matter ranges from serene landscapes and intimate still lifes to expressive figurative depictions.
Reflecting the diversity of its participants, Pure Painting includes two Canadian artists and painters from nine U.S. states, with a strong representation of eighteen artists from Illinois. This wide-ranging geographic and stylistic variety underscores the vibrancy of contemporary painting by women artists today.
