CHICAGO – Woman Made Gallery is pleased to announce their collaboration with Robert Morris University in presenting the exhibition, Women Imaging Women: A Study of Female Portraiture. This exhibition explores the significance of portraiture in contemporary art by women, specifically examining women’s roles as both the subject and the creator of portraits. Women Imaging Women presents a collection of portraits created by a diverse group of women artists that ask whether portraits of women created by women offer a distinctive perspective and whether this collection of portraits shares inherent characteristics. An opening reception will be held at the Robert Morris State Street Gallery, Thursday, July 9 from 5 to 8pm.The exhibition is organized by Woman Made Gallery, a non for profit organization dedicated to promoting women in the arts. All of the included artists are associated with Woman Made Gallery.
