These three paintings for the “State of GRace” exhibition are new additions to a continuing group of works collectively known as the “I Am Women Series”. Themes in this ongoing series focus on self discovery, aspirations, and universal aspects of life as they relate to African American Women. Grace being defined as a special virtue or gift from above is represented through a radiance about the heads and shoulders of each figure in the paintings. The radiance can be seen with a certain light.
