Still Life in Time
hand colored photo
28 x 20 in.
My work is about time. It is about landscape, loss and desire; it is about how we quell our aloneness with temples, effigies, testaments, and assorted legacies.
My photograph stops time for a brief moment it is that ephemeral millisecond I capture on film—stolen memento mori exposing an unstable, transient universe, threatening our existence at every turn.
I focus my camera on precious things: books, flowers, trees, clouds, sky; interior things, things with which we fill our empty spaces till those spaces become glutted, and time mercilessly cuts in to relieve us of the smothering clutter.
