Cave of the Goddess

This records a spiritual sojourn to the seat of my spirituality—it is the cave of the Goddess from which positive thought and good things spring. I visited this place during a dark time in my life; it was a place of solace, peace and hope.
Stephanie Rose Bird has been a practicing artist for over 25 years working with mixed media drawing and oil painting. As an she educator taught for many years at the School of the Art Institute, also at Illinois Institute of Art and Chicago Botanic Gardens. Bird is wrote and illustrated her first book, “Sticks, Stones, Roots and Bones,” and is writing and illustrating her third book, “A Healing Grove.” She won a Fulbright Senior Scholar Award, Ford Faculty Foundation Grant and Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant among others.
Exhibits include: Sotheby’s Chicago and Tel Aviv, University of Illinois, Chicago; African American Cultural Center; ARC; Artemesia Gallery; Betty Rymer Gallery, School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Satori Fine Art; Chicago State College; Prairie State College; Northern Illinois University; Sioux City Art Center; Rahr-West Museum, John Jay College of Justice, Cialis Western Open (PGA Tour) and Art-in-the-Embassies program.
