Childhood to Youth
intaglio image from copper plate
32 x 32 in.
Childhood was a period in my life that I shut out of memory, or thought of through the hazy mists of time. I remembered it by watching my own children grow up. My paintings, drawings and etchings use my daughters for imagery, but the story they tell is my own. They say far more about me and the child in me than they do of them. I am grateful to my daughters for allowing me to portray them in my story. May they know the wonder I encountered in them when they have children of their own–to understand “The Child in Them.”
