I paint large colorful figurative work. Old dress patterns have led me to explore a “girl language.” I rip and tear them. I also rip and tear textured papers. They show me the image. My paintings become intuitive stories. The monsters of my childhood. The patterns are rules of what a “girl” is supposed to be. The patterns give me directions. My girl figures begin to break the rules. The faithful and constant dog is always there. She is who the “girl” really is.
