I work in a variety of materials — oil, collage, pencil, ink, found objects. I start with a found piece of paper, an old dirty newspaper, and slowly an image takes shape. I build up the imagery, adding and destroying until I am satisfied. The challenge lies in starting with “nothing” and ending up with a connection to everyday life.
