Why do you vote?
I am an avid reader of the news. Even when it horrifies me, even when it makes me despair, I think it is my duty to know, to witness, to try to make a difference. Lately I have been thinking a lot about the ways that decisions that adults make have the biggest impact—a disproportionate impact—on children and young people. Adults set up the system that assures that so many children will go hungry. Adults set up the system that puts babies in cages, separated from their families. Adults are comfortable using the world up, so there is nothing left for the young people. The daily casual violence that children experience is hardly news, and that makes me mad. This has to stop. The very least I can do is vote for chrissakes!
