Rooted in Family: A Short History of Dick and Jane (2018)
30.5 x 31 in.
“This piece portrays the story of my relationship with my late brother, Jim, who was my only sibling. We were only eleven months apart in age and in many ways were always close. He was very intelligent and could be really funny, but throughout his life he suffered from mental health issues which prevented him from ever finding real happiness and which severely complicated his relationship to those around him. He died in 1998 at the age of 48 from a massive stroke brought on by obesity and his failure to treat his diabetes. Despite the difficulties we sometimes had, I miss him greatly.”
