Perhaps the strangest reality show of the twenty-first century is that of the bride and her wedding. Extreme celebrity worship has taken over; we are brought all the news of the rich and beautiful. We are encouraged to join them – to become the ultimate beauty queen – if only for a day. Months of time and thousands of dollars are spent to live a fantasy. In fairy tales the poor usually wind up in a more comfortable position. This new scenario has the well off prospering by those who don’t grasp that the media’s reality is not real.
