15 x 15 in.
Since 2004, I have created a body of work surrounding the occasions in which I reunite with a group of 8 women I attended high school with in Longview, Texas. Because six in the group are now married many of these occasions have been wedding-related: bridal showers, weddings, engagement parties, and bachelorette parties.
In each situation, I have been fascinated with how their body language can be contingent on location and occasion, and on how different facets of their personalities become more and less apparent in contrasting environments.
As we each have developed our own lives, I have realized time and again that my own deviation from what I perceived to be a prescribed life has left me in a strange place, fitting in as both insider and observer to a world that continues to astound me.
