Facets: Self-Portrait Explorations (in painting and photography)
Perception, interpretation, likeness, presence, observation and capturing essence are in play. Ranging from abstract to representational, the paintings explore being present and in the light, while the shadow portraits capture the essence of self as described by the absence of light. There are many facets to each of us and many ways to experience them. How I see me, how you see me, and how I really am are likely very different perceptions, each of a moment and ever changing. A reminder that sense of self is a fluid thing.
