New Hampshire-based, interdisciplinary artist Marjorie R. Albano draws on a variety of media and process. This work is part of Albano’s recent series of what she calls “One Girl’s Journal in Mixed Media”; in it she chronicles a two year period in her life through the explorations of specific personal events that range from seemingly inconsequential to life altering. The symbolism in her mixed media creations target such intimate issues as identity, depression, courage, and hope. She examines the subjective notions of history and memory as she considers her own role in these situations.
