The theme, “Devils & Dolls”, was my inspiration for this piece that explores the relationship between that which is generally regarded as beautiful and that which is generally regarded as evil either externally or internally.

I considered the line between the compellingly visual and the repellent to be imperceptible as I constructed the satanic altar. The dominant palette of red and black was applied because of the complex meaning of those colors within the context of both beauty and evil.
