Many of the objects that I make are doll-like though I never really think of them as dolls- to me they are more like characters in the animated series of my life. I make lots of creatures that are devil/demon-like or somehow slightly askew but they are mostly friendly. My mom and grandmother kept trying to get me to collect dolls when I was a kid- nice girls from around the world with pretty hair and clothes-but I was more interested in dinosaurs and horses. Also I read lots of books with interesting monsters. Eventually it all merged in my art and now much of what I make combines my love of nature with science fiction (or some fiction).
