This image is from the series “Psychological Space” which focuses on issues of childhood sexual abuse as it relates to my work as an art therapist. The work originates with details of the stories of my child victim clients and involves the retelling of the story as it impacts me personally and professionally.

I incorporate myself and my personal environment in the images to interpret the child’s character and my understanding of the child’s story. The images are not only intended to educate others and create awareness regarding the emotional and psychological impact of sexual abuse, but they allow me to release my own secondary trauma as a result of the horrific events which I hear on a daily basis.
