It is with a heavy heart and many tears that I share that my feline friend Scruffy passed away in January. Scruffy came to me as a stray and I provided him with his forever home for over a year. I am happy that he got be a part of my life during that time. I will truly miss the quirky traits that made him special. He was a great companion. He was an excellent studio assistant and supervised me while I completed projects. His long fluffy tail was like a feather duster. I would often find glitter and sequins in his coat and would have to brush him after our time in the studio.
I will miss his loud purring, love for snuggling and his passion for loitering on the couch. Believe it or not I will even miss the times that he accosted me for refried bean tostadas. Some people say that I rescued Scruffy, but I think it is quite the opposite. Caring for Scruffy has taught me so much about compassion, patience, strength and resilience.
