Genetic Modification vs. Nature
printmaking, mixed media
24 x 38 in.
My most current work is produced by tearing and adhering a collograph or woodblock print to a wooden board within a painted and collaged background. I use acrylic paints, ink, embossing powder, wire, metal objects, screening and chain, torn and cut fabric and papers, plastic mesh and other recycled elements.
I produced most of the plates specifically for use as collage elements in mixed media pieces. Each collograph or woodblock print can stand alone, yet when blended with paint, metal, cloth and various other findings, they become part of a rich layer of elements that tell their own story.
