One of a series of five works, Beyond Square IV, is part of my ongoing work on connecting and critiquing ritual, tradition, patriarchy, and misogyny. Executed on paper, a layered dripping body appears cascading from a wall or the surface that held it. Beginning with a hand-printed rectangular I use erasure processes to create the free-flowing tactile shapes of the series to connect the stories of survival of women across the world and emotions I felt nearly every day of my life as a girl/female growing up in the patriarchal world of India.
