I look at the world through the mind, heart and soul of a woman of my times.
I am a woman whose male relatives are still endangered by ignorance and prejudice.
I am a woman whose daughters must make their own way in a world where they are judged by their color rather than by the content of their character.
I am a woman whose ancestors sacrificed themselves making a place for me and my children.
I know the history of my people. I observe and record the present.
As a visual artist I give my people an alternative to the mass media version of our lives.
