In “Data Transfer” I wanted to convey the profound changes in written communication over time—from the earliest human symbols, to ancient Latin text, to nineteenth-century magazines, through modern newsprint, to the storing of our information on CDs and in cyberspace clouds. No doubt our vehicles for communication will continue to evolve as our technologies and needs advance. “Data Transfer” honors our journey to find ways to share our lives with one another.
