ARTIST STATEMENT
I was a young woman when Roe v. Wade was originally enacted by the Supreme Court. To see it overturned in my lifetime is shocking. The current court and many in the political spectrum are engaged in a despicable attack on women. It goes well beyond contraception and abortion. They are trying to control women in every way and make sure we are treated as less than. They do not care who dies, whose quality of life is reduced or who lives in poverty.
I am furious. My body is mine alone, always will be! This work is in response to the abortion laws and the sorrow I feel for the young women of today who must once again fight for worth and autonomy.
