A Woman I Met at a Gathering Against Sexual Violence

It is my intention to bring the viewer inside an experience previously unknown to them or to connect knowingly with viewers who share the experiences described in my work.

These images are excerpts from an album titled, “Photographs from Iowa and France”. The work is semi-autobiographical and describes experiences from my past. The complete book is comprised of sequenced image-text combinations, which take the viewer through an emotional experience, using a spare visual style in the photographs that is matched with a spare writing style. The narrative voice in the text functions as a guide to the interpretation of each image, suggesting what is beyond the frame.
