Ariana Vaeth

Ariana Vaeth is a Baltimore raised artist focused on personal narrative. Her paintings honor interactions with the people who construct her character and document personal reflection. Vaeth finds stimulation in the melodrama of everyday life. Composing subjects, furniture, and props, her autobiographical paintings chronicle exchanges found in personal relationships. Graduate from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, she fulfilled an exchange program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. While completing domestic exchange, Vaeth continued her interest with the figure and methods in oil painting. Vaeth is currently finishing an Artist in Residence program at her alma mater. Winner of the 2017 Mary Nohl Fellowship for the emerging artist category, her and the other four recipients will exhibit at Marquette University’s Haggerty Museum from June 7 to August 5, 2018.
