I’m always looking for materials or objects to subvert. My practice is often driven by a desire to play with language and duality.

Instead of focusing on repeating motifs, I am intent in connecting ideas through a sense of conceptual, emotional, and material cosmology. Recent projects have incorporated varied materials—margarine, noxzema, single-use shopping bags, crude oil, and 1,500 lbs. of hand-shaped clay. The transmogrification of these materials becomes a means to question their perceived value and function while considering the constraints of language and my relationship to painting.
