ARTIST STATEMENT
Street photography is my power. My being. My love.
It gives me freedom to unlock doors, remove the mask from hidden worlds and wander through.
My camera is me is my camera. It sees what I see. A box with a hole in it breaks through and through. In a brief flash I can see the hopes we all share in a single face…one person, captured…and shot. I can feel all the sorrows of the world in a single gesture…forever.
Street photography means to try to understand the world around you and then to explain those complexities to others…without words, without sounds. A picture says more. A picture is more.
A split second in time, a moment that may never again be repeated. Seemingly insignificant flashes that happen throughout our lives…that make up who we are, where we’ve been and who we sometimes hope to be.
With my camera I am an explorer which brings much sadness as well as exhilaration. This is my time here and now, it is like no other past or future and these pictures are my moments. And now I share these moments with you…all of you.
