Woman Made Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of “While in Class…,” an exhibition from January 22 through February 26, 2010, which seeks to get students’ works out of storage and into the light, and thereby examine the process of becoming an artist. What kinds of innovations are being made “while in class?”
“While in Class…” is juried by Lily Mayfield, and features work by 35 emerging women artists. Though the media, style, and content are all varied, a constant theme resonates: this work produced while in class illustrates a struggle and developmental process of discovering who they are and what they do as artists.
