Indian Summer
photography

I find myself creating a place within my work that allows the exploration of my rich indigenous culture in conjunction with Euro-American society. This place allows me to question the morals of American society and what it has done and is still doing to indigenous people.

By incorporating the history of indigenous culture, I address the strong traditional ties of native people to their traditions, in spite of their present way of insertion in America. My work is like an identity map of my own experience as a Crow Indian/American woman and my struggles to make a connection between the two ways of life.
