Yellow Indiangrass, November 2013
acrylic and grass
10 x 10 in.
I am not a trained artist. I started coloring and Zentangles when I started having anxiety attacks after my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. This led me to art journal books and then to painting on canvas. I am a volunteer land steward for a Gulf Coast Tallgrass Prairie in Texas owned by the Nature Conservancy. I find my peace and home on the Nash Prairie, and I started using grasses in my paintings. Gluing the grasses down on the canvas and then painting over the top.
