I began creating in the fiber medium because I am inspired by the tactile nature that was not fulfilled through other mediums in which I’ve explored.
The process became as important as the finished pieces, you see I want my hands on it all. I mold each fiber bit by hand and add flame for color and texture.
I need connection to my people and my environment to stay healthy. I have remained connected to through electronic means and while it’s nice it does not satiate my need to be connected like hugging my family and creating my art. I have the blessing of a home studio space and have created over 50 pieces since we began our quarantine.
For me touch is best through the hands whether through art or through personal connection.
