My paintings are hybrids of gestural/expressionistic movements and abstract biomorphic forms. I want the viewers to feel a sense of wonder when looking at my paintings. I invite them to be curious and to daydream. Through the abstraction of beautiful but small strange things, such as the small plankton floating in the water or the filaments of mushrooms extending miles underground, I present a drifting human mind with hidden dreams and symbols. The viewer can step out of the everyday world, connect with the magical or the mystical, and tap into the memories of unknown sources. I am often inspired by nature, calligraphy, music, and the inquiries on human consciousness. I have a background in biological science and am based in the Southwestern U.S.
