I work intuitively, using mixed media, to create patterns and textures that often resemble something found in nature. The work is often inspired by my curiosity about a specific medium and the discovery of pushing its limits. Embellishments of thread, stitching, and/or knots are added to slow the process-driven work—a meditation of sorts. The artwork becomes a sensory experience for the viewer and an invitation to question what lies just below the surface of perception.
