In preparation for my own wedding to my dear husband, I created this piece. Through journaling and layering of wax and gold paint, I was able to respond to the pressure of planning a wedding and juggling other responsibilities. The silk fabric and pearl headed pins are white, pure, unaltered wedding articles. These represent the hopes of the wedding day and life together in the future. The energetic movement of the writing and the dirty burnt edges of the piece represent the built up stress of preparing the details of the wedding day.
