The Impact of Air Travel (Creole Wrasse) (2018)
round and recycled materials and everyday trash

Trash is everywhere. Over 50 years, the use of plastic increased 20-fold worldwide. Plastic creates toxins that end up in our rain, water, soil, and bodies. My artwork combines two opposing ideas – the investigation of pollution and the desire to share beauty.
I transform found and recycled objects and everyday trash into finely crafted and realistic imagery. I create this work to bring attention to social and political issues like climate change. I use my artwork as a pathway of communication with the viewer. The image may be beautiful from a distance but close up, it reveals so much more.
