Sarah Nishiura is a Chicago based visual artist who makes quilts, prints, drawings and paintings. The woodblock reduction prints included in this exhibition explore her interest in textiles by focusing on patterns which weave, knot, ravel, and unravel. Sarah’s work has been shown locally, nationally and internationally, including a recent solo exhibition of quilts at Brown University’s Sarah Doyle Gallery in Providence, Rhode Island. Sarah earned her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and currently teaches quilt making at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago.
