Through an intersectional feminist praxis Ruby Cedar hopes to produce work through somatic reverberations, using the body as a maker of knowledge as an attempt to decentre the western white male canon of image/object/knowledge production from her own imaginary. A structure that puts the white male historically and presently at the centre of taste, taste as far from the senses as possible and more towards status and societal positioning. Ruby is interested in alternative archives and writers of history, challenging pedagogies, in participating in social engagement projects, in curating solely female identifying exhibitions and facilitating inclusive spaces. She has a Bachelor degree from Central Saint Martins, London and has exhibited in London, Berlin and Sofia.
