ARTIST STATEMENT
My practice explores human experiences, with particular focus on our responses to and interactions with the world around us. I am especially interested in creating work that is guided by intuition and shaped through organic contours, arriving at a resolved structure through processes that resist rigid geometry. Layering – both conceptually and materially – is central to my approach, often involving a combination of repurposed and newly sourced materials. These choices are deliberate and intended to deepen the work’s critical resonance, offering viewers multiple entry points for contemplation. I am drawn to tensions that arise from the juxtaposition of seemingly opposing ideas – for example nature versus science, or the discourse of high-art in relation to craft traditions. My work often presents a visual language that is at once delicate and whimsical, while simultaneously addressing pressing social and environmental concerns. I aim to foster a contemplative experience that acknowledges complexity while holding space for hope.
