Much of my work is involved with “life stories”- my life stories. My embroideries, dolls, and mixed media pieces often depict self-portraits in which I may appear saintly, full of love and light, or devilish and dark. Perhaps this imagery reflects back to “growing up Catholic” and the continuing struggle to make sense of all the ritual and dogma I was exposed to as a small child? Other pieces are simply playful and experimental, attempting to push the medium as far as it will go.
