Coastal Bloom II (2020)
15 x 43 in.

I am a fiber artist who employs fabric and paper, surface design techniques and stitch to create work about human relationships, both to other humans and to the earth. I live on the western edge of the Lake Erie watershed where fertilizer runoff from farms and lawns has resulted in the development of huge algae blooms on the lake. To me these blooms can appear elegant at times but are a serious danger to the life of the lake.
