The pulp paintings were inspired by my investigation into the concept and process of handwriting. While studying calligraphy, letterforms and handwriting, I became intrigued with the ability to communicate beyond the message encoded in the text. Beneath the linguistic narrative which concerns itself with legibility, translation, or encoded information in a system of organized letters is evidence or language of the spirit.
