ARTIST STATEMENT
Much of my recent art is inspired by the inner workings of the body, especially at a cellular level. The golgi apparatus or golgi complex is an organelle of the cell that is “responsible for the essential task of sorting proteins and lipids that are received (at the cis face) or released (at the trans face) by the organelle.” (https://www.britannica.com/science/Golgi-apparatus) This work is an intuitive reaction to the folds and function of the organelle.
