My practice is a dance between painting and sculpture. The movement between the two is a way for me to create a space where I stay completely engaged. The tedium of my sewing time coupled with an energetic painting practice is manifesting works that are becoming more complex yet simplified. I use malleable and discarded materials that I fold, cut, paint, glue and sew as a primary means of expression, but also as a quiet, intimate, hidden and introspective activity. A means to access and process thoughts, work through ideas and understandings and release intuitive gestures and feelings.
