These small works are part of my Glimpses series. It started with a desire to paint details of various figures while thinking about my composition and color choices. Working on these I realized that a partial figure can hint at what is outside the frame and create an interesting narrative, one that is ambiguous and engages the person looking at them. As a viewer you could wonder, are the figures in the paintings alone, or near another person just beyond what we see? Are they touched physically, yearning to be, or are they content being alone?
