Collage is my favorite art medium. It is a visible expression of life: taking bits and pieces and putting them together to make one picture. The pieces are disparate: some colorful, some void of light, some soup-bowl combinations, but all are integral to the whole. It’s how they are put together that matters.

“Red” is a depiction of counterspaces, the parts of a letter we do not see. They define the letter though, and in their invisibility they give form and substance to the letter. They are indispensable for the functioning of written language. What we don’t see makes possible what is seen.
