“Plein Air” a French expression meaning “open air,” getting out of the studio and into the out-doors.

Painting and sketching out-doors, expressionistically and emotionally, and completing, or nearly completing a drawing, a painting, in one sitting. It’s new for me, a print maker, political artist. The light changes, the wind interferes. Insects crawl on the canvas. Wear sunscreen, wear a hat, stand up, sit down, everything constantly changing. The clouds move, the shadows change, nothing stands still. I want to master it!
