ARTIST STATEMENT
In Regression, this artwork is speaking on how women’s right are reverting into an oppressive state. Regression reflects this subject by having a clock going counter clockwise while laying upon a dystopian medical examination table. Title IX discusses how the Overturn of Roe v. Wade has effected women’s health care; in particularly, speaking on how women are now getting mistreated by many healthcare providers. Conceptually I am drawn to women’s issues such as reproductive rights in relationship to my own struggles living as a female in today’s American society. Mix Media art is where I can successfully execute my conceptual beliefs and help bring the gap between art and the viewer. Mix media seems to grasp the viewer more effectively for my conceptual beliefs. This is just the beginning of my exploration and research into the relationship within concept and material.
