I consider myself a process-based artist and do not start with a preconceived plan. The attraction to materials are some of the elements that take me to the final development of my pieces. My work is based on life experiences having frequently relocated to different countries with the inevitable readjustments and reinventions.
Through innovation and creativity my work is very eclectic, inspired by garment pieces, their regalia and language all of which incorporate traces of my past. In one way or another, these invaluable experiences have shaped my artistic practice of using a wide range of color schemes, textures and foreign artifacts.
Some of my work represents a transformation in how I perceive the textile language based on my experiences collaborating with people through nonprofit organizations.
