Thinking about “home” is a double-edged sword. During the pandemic I feel so deeply thankful to live with my beloved wife in the happiest home I’ve ever known. The homes we both grew up in were nothing like this, and my heart aches for those who live through quarantine, or anytime, in homes where they feel unsafe or disrespected. My work tackles both of these experiences of home through my use of vintage domestic textiles and hand embroidery.
